Kasey Fries is director of label relations for the distributor BFM Digital. In that role, she helps independent artists and labels navigate the tricky world of selling and streaming digital music online, advising on royalties, contracts, marketing and more. She is an A&R representative for both The Royalty Network and BFM, having signed such leading lights as Eliza Rickman and Small Plates Records. She feeds BFM's blog "The Hook" and, as one of the company's first employees, helped make BFM one of the industry's fastest growing digital distributors. Kasey is the daughter of a professional musician; she graduated from UCLA with a degree in American literature; and she enjoys listening to KCRW and baking bundt cakes.
