Michael Frisch

Michael B. Frisch, is an associate at the law firm of Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber Herbsman, LLP and is a member of the New York Bar. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Mr. Frisch worked as an attorney in the business and legal affairs department of Sanctuary Group, a major independent record label, artist management, and merchandise company, subsequently purchased by Universal Music Group. Mr. Frisch started his career at Leibowitz, Roberts & Ritholz LLP, a boutique entertainment law firm located in New York City.

Representative matters in the music industry include the drafting and negotiation of recording artist agreements, music publishing agreements, live performance agreements, merchandise licenses, spokesperson agreements, as well as digital, new media, and intellectual property licensing. Mr. Frisch’s clients in the music industry include independent record labels, major label and independent recording artists, music publishing companies, songwriters, magazine publishers, and the estates of deceased artists.

Mr. Frisch is a graduate of Tulane University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. He obtained his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, where he served as Notes Editor for the Journal for Conflict Resolution. He is currently a member of the NYSBA Entertainment Law section, as well as the Committee on Music and Recording Industry.
