NewVillager is a group of musicians and artists currently living and working in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. In 2011, they released their debut, self-titled album on IAMSOUND records and toured internationally with Okkervil River, Titus Andronicus, Sunset Rubdown, Metronomy, and Best Coast. They have performed live and built installations in museums, galleries, and concert halls, including Jack Hanley Gallery in New York, Human Resources in Los Angeles, Fredericks and Freiser in Chelsea, Black and White project space in Brooklyn, and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. All of their music, drawings, collages, videos and installations are made using the monomyth, a narrative pattern found in ancient and contemporary mythologies.
